During my freshman year of high school, Ms. Mankin was briefly an artist-in-residence at the San Francisco School of the Arts. That year she successfully auditioned for the Pickle Family Circus, and on her last day as our teacher, she performed the skit that she auditioned with. I remember the amount of energy she gave to her performance and just how much fun she was to watch. She taught us a great deal that day. She will be missed.
Rest in peace, Joan, and thanks for the memories.
